Outdoor Canvas Cushions

My mum asked me to make her some cushions for her outdoor chairs so I told her to buy the fabric and I would be up for the challenge! She bought an end of bolt of canvas at the recent Spotlight end of bolt sale and I whipped up these cushions tonight as I am trying to finish off lots of little projects before getting started on Matilda's quilt this week. They have a zip in one end so that they can be machine washed. There is heaps of canvas left over so thinking of some other things to make for mum with it for outdoors - maybe some mesh food throws with the canvas as the trim, table mat, not really sure what else?

More Sneak Peaks!

Here is another little sneak peak for the EB kids clothes swap. Just about finished, just some hemming and a little top to finish off now : ) A little different to the first sneak peak? Yes it is, this is a second outfit that I started on and should have just done from the beginning so I am undecided yet as to whether I will send both pieces with a top that will go with both or just this one as I love the way this one has turned out! So cute!

Freezer Paper Stencilling

I finally got around to doing some freezer paper stencilling today after wanting to try it for a while now. I found an image in my clipart folder of a motorbike which I thought Tom would love (and he does!). The paint has bled a little on the back wheel of the bike which I think may have been me putting the paint on a little too thickly. Not bad for a first attempt though and so quick and easy to do. Once its dry will give it a few washes just to check the paint mix I used holds up well enough before doing some more. I used a combination of an acrylic paint with a textile medium from the 'Jo Sonja' paint range.

Button Hair Ties

Some cute little button hair ties I made on the weekend for Matilda using self cover buttons, fabric scraps and some hair elastics. I could 'just' get her hair up into tiny piggy tails.

EB Haby Swap

Thank you to Cass for the lovely goodies I received in the EB Haby Swap. A magazine, some material, a pin cushion, zips, pins, ric rac and buttons. All lovely bits and pieces that I am sure will get used up very soon!
